Born in Yateley, Hampshire on 26 March 1979, Daniel Boys is an actor and singer, specialising in musical theatre.

He won a Cameron Mackintosh scholarship to train at the Guildford School of Acting and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree. Released from college six months early, he joined the first UK national tour of the musical Rent. During its run he played both the leading roles of Angel and Mark and was also the understudy. He was the alternate Mark for two shows a week when Rent ran at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London.

2002 saw him appearing as King James I in Remember! Remember! at the Bridewell Theatre, London, and from July to September he played the part of Morino in the UK National Tour of Sunset Boulevard, which starred Faith Brown. Daniel then starred as Roger in Grease for the twelve month run at the Victoria Palace, London, later that year also playing Roger in the Japanese tour of Grease.

The following year, Daniel made his panto debut as Muddles in Snow White at the Buxton Opera House and in the spring of 2004 played the lead role of Tony in West Side Story in a European tour. In the summer, he revisited Grease, playing Doody for the Scandinavian tour. Also during 2004, he appeared in a series of Disney concerts and took part in Rent in Concert at the Millfield Arts Centre.

Returning to panto, Daniel undertook the role of Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon in 2004 and the lead as Peter Pan in Peter Pan, again at The Wyvern Theatre, the following year.

A major breakthrough for Daniel was in the spring of 2006 when he understudied all four male parts and played Parson Nathaniel for the world premiere of Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds for the national tour, which was led by Russell Watson. In the autumn, Daniel revisited Rent as Mark with the European tour, visiting Germany, Holland and Switzerland.

It was in March 2007 that Daniel applied to appear in the TV show Any Dream Will Do, a TV reality show to find a new Joseph for the West End. Impressing the judges each week, Daniel reached the final six and was a shock eviction from the series.

His first engagement after the programme was back in the theatre as Anthony Hope in Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street which was one of the first shows to open at the newly restored Royal Festival Hall in July 2007. Daniel was a featured guest on Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night, which was recorded live at LSO St Lukes, London. He also took part in three concerts, West End Comes to Walden: An Afternoon of Show Songs, When You've Got It, Flaunt It! and Georgia Stitt and Friends in Concert.

To much acclaim, Daniel then took the lead as Austin Bennet in the UK premiere of the 2006 off-Broadway hit I Love You Because which was staged at the Landor Theatre, Clapham towards the end of 2007.

Most recently, Daniel has landed one of his dream roles as Princeton/Rod in the musical Avenue Q, at the Noel Coward Theatre, London where he took over the lead in December 2007.
